Janine Shifman
FOUNDER AND LEAD PRACTITIONER
Janine Shifman is the founder of Anara Health and a physiotherapist with over 20 years of clinical experience. She provides comprehensive physiotherapy care with a strong focus on women’s health, supporting a wide range of musculoskeletal and pelvic health concerns.

Janine has worked across private practice, clinical Pilates, and spent many years in tertiary public hospitals in advanced practice roles. She holds a master’s degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and has completed extensive training in pelvic floor physiotherapy, pelvic pain, prolapse management, bladder and bowel dysfunction, and pre- and postnatal care.

Her approach is holistic and person-centred, recognising the connection between the pelvic floor, the nervous system, and overall wellbeing. Janine also specialises in Internal Pelvic Release Work and is one of the few physiotherapists trained in this approach. All of her sessions are trauma-informed and can include birth preparation and post-birth debriefing, with at-birth support offered when possible.

“Over time and through experience, I’ve discovered that this work needs longer sessions. Working with women in extended appointments, in the calm, professional, non-clinical space at Anara, helps them feel safe, heard, and supported. This is the space I’ve intentionally created so care can be unhurried and meaningful.”
